A total of 104,481 candidates have registered to sit for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education U.A.C.E 2019, under the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB). (https://www.wmpg.org)
While addressing the media at UNEB headquarters in Ntinda on Thursday, Dan Odongo, the UNEB Executive Secretary, said that “Candidates have increased by 4.8% from 99,672 in 2018, to 104,481, whereby the number of male candidates is 60,856 making up 58.2%, whereas female candidates are 43,652 which is equivalent to 41.8%, whereby candidates are registered from 1,982 centres compared to 1,815 centres in 2108.”
In the same vein, Odongo called upon heads of centres, teachers and invigilators to be professional and desist from the criminal activity of examination malpractices.
However, he appealed head teachers not to block candidates from sitting their exams because of failing to pay school fees.
He also urged parents to fulfill their responsibilities to avoid such problems since they affect a students’ levels of concentration.
Examinations are commencing tomorrow Friday November 08, 2019, with briefing and will end on December 02, 2019.
