Packwach, Uganda: At least 17 people have been confirmed to have perished in a terrible accident that occurred in Pakwach district last night.
According to police, the nasty accident occurred along Pakwach-Panymur road at around 8:30 Pm when a truck carrying market vendors lost control on a slope and overturned, killing 17 on spot.
Eyewitnesses revealed that 10 others were rushed to hospital in critical condition. The deceased’s bodies were taken to Arua Hospital for postmortem and will later be handed over to their relatives for burial.
The incident has been recorded under TAR: 003/2019 of Pakwach Police Station and the police are conducting investigations to establish the actual cause of the accident. Ugandans missing beloved ones have been advised to go to Arua hospital to check if there are any of them among the bodies.
