Bushenyi: As Uganda prepares for the forthcoming 2020/2021 general elections, parliamentary aspirant Hon.Kabuura Derrick Baimukye has caused pressure against fellow aspirants vying for Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality MP leadership.
Hon.Kabuura Derrick Baimukye is business man and petroleum investor and a son of the Western Uganda’s money mogul and a petroleum dealer, Mr. Baimukye Apollo Musiimenta aka BAM, a grandson of the late Canon Ephraim Bikaito.
Kabuura says that after being guided by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) historical mission of transforming Uganda from a peasant society to a modern industrialized society, he decided to join the race hopefully to win it and boost his Municipality’s development.
“Guided by the NRM core values and principles of Democracy, Patriotism, Social Economic Transformation and Pan Africanism, I come into this election not to discredit the efforts of those who have served us in the past but to champion a fresh, accountable, people-centred and result oriented approach to leadership that resonates with 21st Century challenges that our people continue to grapple with” Kabuura said.
However, ever since he announced his parliamentary bid, pressure and fear engulfed his competitors that include the panicky Hon.Arinda Gordon Kakuuma, Marvin Baryaruha, Jenipher Rutagagi, Arnold Spencer among others.
Few days after his pronouncement, Kabuura unveiled his 100% problems solving manifesto that caught his voters attention and mounted pressure against his competitors who thought about terminating their participation.
Among the key issues Kabuura hopes to solve if entrusted with the Municipality’s parliamentary leadership, include, advocating for and delivering on the most pressing needs of the people by solving Issues related to youth unemployment, health, education, conducive business environment, infrastructure such as roads and energy, women, people with disabilities, among others.
He adds that, his leadership will majorly aim at Youth Employment, Quality Education, Better Health Services, Good Governance and Accountability, Youth Involvement and Participation in Decision-making Bodies, Youth with Disabilities, Gender Equity and Equality, Women Empowerment, Sports, Arts and Creative Industry, Elderly among others.
Kabuura says that, the aspirations outlined above are a priority from a long list of activities he hopes introduce on behalf of his Country and Bushenyi – Ishaka Municipality in particular.
Who is Kabuura?
Kabuura Derrick Baimukye is a resident of Cell A, Town ward, Ishaka Division, Bushenyi- Ishaka Municipality.
He is a son of Mr. Baimukye Apollo Musiimenta (BAM), grandson of the late Canon Ephraim Bikaito- ha Baimukye.
He is married to Joy Kabuura and together they have 2 children.
He studied his primary school from Kashozi Boarding P/s, went to Nganwa High school for O’ level and Bassaijabala S.S Ishaka for A level before graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Developmental studies from Mbarara University of Science and technology and a businessman in the Petroleum business.
