Kampala: According to official communication from Uganda’s State House, HE.President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will tomorrow Saturday address the nation about the second wave of the deadly Covid-19 pandemic with the expectation of announcing new measures that may include a fresh lockdown.

This has been confirmed by Presidential Press Secretary, Lindah Nabusayi Wamboka who via her Twitter handle revealed that the address will be broadcast via all radios and television stations at 8:00 PM.

The same has been confirmed by the president himself who tweeted thus; ”I will address the nation tomorrow at 8:00pm regarding the COVID-19 situation. The address will be live on all Television and Radio stations. Ensure that you tune in. Thank you.”

The development comes at a time when Uganda is panickily battling the second wave of the Covid-19. As we report this, Uganda has 45,231 confirmed cases including 359 deaths. Today alone, Uganda reported 637 new cases.

In the same vein, there are 168,509,636 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 3,505,534 deaths, reported to the World Health Organisation (WHO) and as of 26 May 2021, a total of 1,545,967,545 vaccine doses have been administered.
