A total of 65 Police officers (5 female and 60 male) have been equipped with skills in Scene of Crime management following a successful three-month training at Police Training School in Kibuli.

These were passed out yesterday, Friday 6th May by the Director of Human Resource Directorate, AIGP Geoffrey Golooba who represented the Inspector General of Police.

AIGP Golooba acknowledged that the training is part of the wider carrier development plan aimed at building capacity in professional forensic practitioners.

“You need to conduct yourself in a professional manner, right ethics, good attitude towards work and with integrity. Act responsibility at all times in a manner that will not make the force a laughing stock,” said AIGP Golooba.

He explained that the scene of crime officers are a critical team in enhancing the flow of investigations for a successful conclusion of the investigations and urged the graduands to be disciplined and professional with a good attitude towards work.

“As leaders, discipline is critical and they should get the policing ideology right at all times,” AIGP Golooba noted.

The director of forensics Andrew Mubiru promised full support to the crime of scene officers because they are joining a team that is fully tried and tested.

Mubiru pleaded with the graduands to be trustworthy to themselves, respect their uniform and understand the forensics principle of “nothing but the truth.”
