Kampala: The FUFA Secretariat has started distributing the Convocation to the Delegates for the 97th Ordinary General Assembly due on 21st August 2021 in Mbale.
The Documents are supposed to be received by Member Associations and Delegates one month to the Assembly date as per the FUFA Statutes.
A circular dated 19th July 2021 and signed off by the FUFA CEO Edgar Watson carries details about the Assembly on the following key items;
Status Of Hosting The Ordinary General Assembly
The Assembly might be physical or virtual depending on communication and further guidance by Government on the current Covid-19 42days lockdown that expire at the end of this month.
FUFA remains uncertain on what the Uganda Government authorities will pronounce thereafter.
FUFA will base on the Government’s communication on whether to host the General Assembly physically in Mbale or evoke Article 27(2) which allows the General Assembly to be held virtually.
The FUFA Secretariat will provide the program and further information on the hosting of the Assembly (either physically or virtually) by Friday 6th August 2021 at the latest.
However there are ongoing consultations with Government through the National Council of Sports and requests made to organise a physical General Assembly in Mbale.
The communication further states that Members of FUFA and Delegates are urged to submit any queries, questions or request for clarification on any issues in regard to the General Assembly matters to admin@fufa.co.ug by 5th August 2021.
