Kampala: President Museveni through his Office of the National Chairman (ONC) has today donated income generating items to his Bazzukulu in Rukiga District as one of the ways to improve their house hold incomes.

The items were delivered today to thousands of Bazzukulu at Kantare Playgrounds, Kashambya in a massive empowerment drive championed by the Office of the NRM National Chairman head, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye aka Chief Muzzukulu.

While handling over the items on behalf of President Museveni, Hajjat Namyalo who also doubles as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs implored beneficiaries to utilize them to their maximum potential and generate wealth.

“I have come here just like i have done elsewhere, to empower you on behalf of HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and First lady Janet Kataha Museveni. These two are the champions of wealth creation in the country. So I am here to deliver these empowerment tools on their behalf. Its important that all Ugandans have some money in the pocket, ” Hajjat Namyalo Hadijah told the people of Rukiga on Friday afternoon.

“Yes the President gave you the Skilling hub, but after getting skills, what next? you need the tools to start implementing the skills you’ve obtained in the hub so that you start making money,” she added amid ululations from the mammoth of crowd on the afternoon.

Hajjat Namyalo, however decried at the bureaucracy in government programmes such as Emyooga, PDM, Youth Livelihood, among others, and called out on local government officials who demand money from those seeking access to these programs to desist from such acts.

“The Government has very many programs for you but the problem is with the implementation, which has a lot of bureaucracy and procedures to follow, but the ONC is here to give you start-up tools for your own empowerment,” she said.

Furthermore, Hajjat Namyalo blasted opportunists and selfish politicians and implored the Bazzukulu not to involve President Museveni’s ONC into local politics saying the office she manages is strictly focused on uplifting their livelihoods and not siding with those who have political interest.

She thus warned against some individuals in positions of power who try to intimidate her when she visits certain districts, stating that her purpose is not political but rather centered on promoting prosperity.

In her final remarks, Namyalo reassured the people of Rukiga that President Museveni will be on the ballot come 2026 and asked them to (as they’ve always done) rally behind with their overwhelming support for more such empowerment campaigns.
