Kampala: Ambassadors of Venezuela, Sahrawi and Algeria last week Saturday morning condemned the ongoing genocide against the people of Palestine and Lebanon.
In her statement, Venezuelan Ambassador to Uganda, Her Excellency Fatima Fernandez Juarez, revealed that the conflict against Palestine and Lebanon is not war but an open genocide.
”Currently, hundreds of our innocent people are dying in this ongoing conflict, we’re here to say enough to bloodshed and we stand with the people of Lebanon and Palestine to call for peace in the Middle East,” said H.E Fernandez in the presence of ambassadors of Algeria His Excellency Amokrane Mourad and that of Sahrawi His Excellency Ali Mohamed.
In his remarks, H.E Mohamed emphasized that the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine and Lebanon can be curbed if Israel opts for dialogue instead of deadly weapons.
On the side of Pan-Africanists in Uganda, Andrew Irumba Katusabe the founding Speaker and Chairman Pan-African Pyramid (PAP) and the Chairman of Pan-African Movement Uganda Chapter, Dan Rugarama heaped the blame on the Western World so-called superpowers’ for fueling most of the wars seen on the African continent and in the middle East.
”Over 2,000 people have been killed in Lebanon by Israel including 127 innocent children and 261 innocent women and pregnant. Over 42,000 Palestinians have so far been killed in Gaza and the West Bank by Israel, including children and women. All these are happening under the supervision of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA), which sees itself as the cowboy and class monitor of the world. In Palestine, it’s ethnic cleansing by Israel and the USA. Meanwhile, America recently sanctioned 4 police officers in Uganda for alleged torture of Ugandans but are yet sanction any Israeli for the mass killings in Lebanon and Palestine,” wondered Irumba adding that Pan-Africanism demands that the rights of all humanity be respected because there’s only one race, the human race.
In the same spirit, Rugarama spit venom against the West, stating that Africa would be far development-wise if it wasn’t for endless wars hugely funded by the USA and other enemies of Africa.
”Am happy that we are here to sound the alarm over what is happening to our brothers and sisters in Lebanon and Israel, we are calling fellow Africans to say no to the genocide against those innocent people. Africa stands with Lebanon and Palestine, Uganda says to hell with Israel’s naked impunity, we can’t tolerate this anymore,” Rugarama fumed.
The strong statements of comrades Irumba, Rugarama and the Ambassadors align well with the recent remarks made by a senior Palestinian diplomat to the United Nations who sounded alarm over Israel’s ongoing siege of northern Gaza.
“What is happening in northern Gaza now is a genocide within the genocide, this must stop with immediate effect, enough of this impunity” Palestinian Ambassador Majed Bamya, the deputy permanent observer to the UN, wrote on X.
