Pictorial: KRC Uganda Holds Successful Retreat In Mwanza, Tanzania To Celebrate 2024 Achievements & Plan For 2025

Mwanza: In an effort to appreciate their hard work and set goals for the upcoming year, Kabarole Research & Resource Centre (KRC-Uganda) last  week from 13th to 18th December 2024, hosted a retreat in Mwanza, Tanzania, bringing together all the three layers of leadership;  Board of Trustees, Board of Directors and staff lead by the Executive Director Sharif Mohammad.

This Year’s retreat also saw a few of the Organization’s former Board members and key strategic stakeholders Join the winning team in Mwanza for merrymaking and brain storming.

The retreat provided an opportunity for KRC’s leadership and team players to reflect on the organization’s successes in 2024, discuss challenges faced, and strategize for 2025. The event was a mix of appreciation and forward-thinking, aimed at fostering teamwork and ensuring KRC’s continued growth and impact in the coming year.

Among the notable attendees were Fort Portal City Member of Parliament (MP), who also doubles as the Organization’s Founder and Chairman Board of Trustees, Hon. Alex Ruhunda Akiiki aka Nikisoboka, Hon. Beatrice Kiraso, the chairperson of the Board of Directors for KRC-Uganda and former Kabarole District Woman MP, Tom Rubale (Board member), Prof. Moses Muhumuza (Board member), among others.

The event also featured KRC’s Executive Director, Mohammed Ahmed Shariff, and Deputy Executive Director/Head of Programs, Muzinduki Patrick, along with program heads  and the entire staff members.

”The retreat was not just a professional affair; it offered an array of activities designed to promote relaxation, collaboration, and team building. Participants enjoyed team-building exercises, discussions on the future direction of the organization, and workshops that encouraged innovation and creativity. There were also recreational activities such as sightseeing tours, leisure walks around Mwanza, and time to enjoy the natural beauty of the Tanzanian landscape. This balanced approach allowed KRC’s staff and board members to recharge while engaging in productive dialogues for organizational growth,” noted our Spy Chief Andrew Irumba who was among the few strategic guests invited.

Before I Give You The Pictorial For Above, First Understand What KRC Is;

Kabarole Research and Resource Centre-Uganda (KRC-Uganda) is a well-established NGO operating countrywide in different regions of Uganda.

Founded in 1996 by Hon.Ruhunda Alex, with a research mission and a long-term commitment to understanding the measures and drivers of poverty and its solutions, KRC-Uganda has accumulated substantial experience in research and created numerous development programs based on community analyses of the activities which would be most helpful in achieving sustainable and equitable socio-economic development.

Twenty-seven years of experience in community development work led KRC-Uganda to identify a new strategic direction currently being implemented, focused on supporting the need for integration and effectiveness of development research & information, decision-making and implementation, reaching national levels of research, information and policy formation.

KRC-Uganda is focused on strengthening its skills in the areas of;

  1. producing in-depth and insightful research for socio-economic development, packaging information and disseminating it to strategic development partners
  2. facilitating and supporting the process of prioritizing opportunities, selecting partners, and making the decisions that get initiatives successfully started, and
  3. facilitating the most effective monitoring and interaction between grassroots households (especially women and youth), decision-makers and implementers to see each program through the stages of implementation to a successful socio-economic sustainable conclusion.

Behind all this, working with partners inside and outside the region like Hivos, Healthy Food Africa, among others, KRC-Uganda also aims to create the support needed to sustain and continuously improve the development of innovative mechanisms in the region.

Below is the list of carefully chosen Cream-Dela-Cream KRC Board of Trustees & Board of Directors Respectively who give technical support to Execute Director Mohamed Shariff led administration, who has in turn, turned around the organization into the most thought after Organization based in Western Uganda to the world. This is evidenced by the record numbers of international donors and partners from different backgrounds, supporting various programs.

Some of the partners and donors include; Goal Uganda, European Union, Humunde, Comic relief, Hivos, USAID, Ile de paix, Trias, International Rescue Committee (IRC), War Children Alliance, Broederlijk Delen, among others.
