Isingiro: Detectives from the Uganda Police are investigating the death of one of their own, who is suspected to have been kidnapped and murdered by unknown people, who later dumped his body in a bush.
Police constable, Ronald Musasizi, who was attached to Kaberebere Police Station in Kaberebere town council, in Isingiro district, reportedly went missing two months ago. When he didn’t report for duty and did not return home the day he disappeared, his family and superiors got puzzled. Efforts by his family and fellow policemen to trace for Musasizi’s whereabouts didn’t yield results. It was not until Tuesday this week that Musasizi’s rotting body was found in a bush near his home.
Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi Region police spokesperson said that “The deceased’s body was handed over to Mbarara Regional Referral hospital for a postmortem to establish the cause of death.” Alex Baryamujura, a neighbor to Musasizi, says the deceased could have committed suicide because he had become a habitual drunkard and hinted on taking his own life. However, other residents suspect that he could have been kidnapped and murdered. But the police are still doing investigations and will reveal the exact cause of Musasizi’s death after the postmortem report is given to them. Efforts to reach Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga for a comment about this matter were futile as his phone number were engaged.
