Entebbe: The Mayor of Entebbe Vincent DePaul Kayanja has been involved in a nasty accident that occurred along Entebbe Express Highway this morning.
It is said that Kayanja’s vehicle, which had four people on board, swerved off the road after a tyre burst and overturned more than three times towards Kajjansi junction along the Expressway. The Democratic Party Vice Chairperson for Entebbe Municipality Michael Kakembo told SpyUganda that all the victims have been rushed to Doctors Clinic for emergency treatment and first aid. “The Mayor has been greatly injured and needs emergency treatment and checkup.” Said Kiriwero Kasozi, one of the people who offered first aid to the victims.
Kayanja, who is currently nursing injuries at t Doctor’s Clinic along Entebbe Road, was traveling in his official car registrations number LG007 155 when it lost control and overturned several times. Eyewitnesses reveal that Kayanja was traveling with two other people, whose identities hadn’t been established by the time of filing this story. However, they also sustained grave injuries and were rushed to hospital in critical condition.
Kayanja and his colleagues were saved by rescuers to rushed to the scene shortly after the accident, before calling the traffic police which responded to the scene in time. The Officer in charge of Traffic at Entebbe Police Station Obadia Ssewanyana asked all road users in Entebbe to ensure that the vehicles are in good mechanical conditions before setting off for a journey.
