President Museveni Endorses Soliton Telmec’s Vision for a Connected Uganda

On Tuesday, Kin Kariisa, Chairman of the Board at Soliton Telmec Uganda, led a high-level delegation to meet with H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at his country home in Rwakitura. The discussions centered on Soliton Telmec’s role in advancing Uganda’s digital connectivity through critical infrastructure development.

Following the meeting, President Museveni expressed his support for the initiative, tweeting, “I had a productive meeting today at Rwakitura with the Soliton Telmec team, led by their Chairman, Kin Kariisa. We discussed innovative strategies to enhance digital connectivity across the country, and I welcome their efforts.”

Kin Kariisa, who also serves as the CEO of Next Media Services and sits on various corporate boards, reiterated Soliton Telmec’s commitment to building the digital backbone of Uganda. “Our dedication to expanding digital connectivity is unwavering. By investing in fiber optics, data centers, and other vital infrastructure, we aim to empower a connected and prosperous nation,” Kariisa said after the meeting.

The engagement highlights the importance of public-private partnerships in achieving Uganda’s digital transformation goals. It is a significant step toward enhancing internet access, fostering innovation, and ensuring the country remains competitive in a technology-driven global economy.  

With leaders like Kin Kariisa at the helm, Uganda is poised to make significant strides in bridging the digital divide, promoting inclusivity, and accelerating national de development.

Kin has been hailed for leading the digital transformation Agenda in the Media and Uganda in general.
