Minister for tourism Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu, who is also the Sheema South MP, is worried about the carelessness of government health workers in his constituency.

Kamuntu revealed this on Friday at Shuuku Town council headquarters in Sheema district, when the town council staff members were giving accountability for what they have done so far. Kamuntu said “I have seen the Mayor appreciating the Shuuku health centre IV In-charge; but for sure I’m totally disappointed with Shuuku health workers. Last time I went there at 2:40Pm but I didn’t find there anyone like a doctor or nurse. I went back to the gate but unfortunately even the gateman wasn’t there. I found a man with his wife in deep sorrow looking for what to do because they had a relative who was seriously sick. You people should know that life has no spare, therefore our government workers should work carefully.” Kamuntu later advised parents to strive for their families for the better future of their children.

“The differences you see here in Uganda are caused by family backgrounds but not that God created you to be poor. I believe that a person who has the same understanding as I do can’t make me a slave. I tell you, if you don’t want your child to be a slave, take him to school. Your child’s talent will never be revealed if he or she is uneducated.” However, Kamuntu isn’t the first one to complain about Shuuku health centre IV workers for being reckless; recently members of the community complained about the same thing, whereby one resident from Rugarama reached there and found no medical workers, which caused the death of his wife during labour.
