Kampala: City businessman Amos Nzeyi has landed in things after being appointed as Mauritius’s Honorary consul to Uganda.
Nzeyi, who was appointed in May 2019, is currently one of the happiest people on planet earth after his appointment being confirmed by Foreign Affairs State minister Hon. Okello Oryem, on behalf of the Uganda Government, on Monday evening. The function to confirm Nzeyi’s appointment was held at the ministry of Foreign Affairs Mweya Board room in Kampala. It started by chief of Protocol Charles Ssentongo introducing H.E Amos Nzeyi to the minister as the newly appointed Mauritius Honorary Consul of The Republic of Uganda
Ssentongo said that “Honourable Minister, I’m introducing to you H.E Amos Nzeyi, Honorary Consul of The Republic of Mauritius to Uganda.” He added that “Hon. Minister, standing before you is Amos Nzeyi who was appointed by Mauritius as their Consul.” Oryem welcomed Nzeyi and said, “Uganda Government welcomes you and expects this appointment to make our working relations to Mauritius stronger.”
Minister Oryem added that “This is one of the very important functions we do here at the ministry of Foreign Affairs. The President of Mauritius appointed our own Amos Nzeyi Honorary Consul to Uganda to promote his country’s interests in Uganda, be able to promote Mauritius investment and trade opportunities in Uganda and tourism.” He noted that “You all know Mauritius is a fastest growing country, with industries and very powerful business atmosphere. On his part, Nzeyi said he has been assigned a duty he knows best and will effectively serve. “Like the minister has told you, Mauritius is a business country with many factories and industries. It has so many tourists coming to this country on daily basis. I was once the chairman Uganda Manufacturers Association. So this assignment I have capability to serve with one heart.”Nzeyi is wealthy businessman, entrepreneur and industrialist.
