Kagadi: The police in Kagadi district have arrested a man on suspicion that he got involved in the brutal murder of his brother.
Gerald Kugonza, a resident of Kahanama village in Burora Sub County in Kagadi district, allegedly clobbered his brother, Alozio Twinomujuni to death using a hoe. The two have been feuding over family land for long. Kugonza is said to have attacked the deceased with a hoe on the head when he found him digging the disputed land. Alex Rubanaga, the Officer in Charge of Burora Police post, says “The conflict between the two escalated on Tuesday afternoon when Kugonza found Twinomujuni digging the contested piece of land and hit him on the head.”
Twinomujuni was rushed to St. Luke’s clinic in Burora Sub County where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Rubanga said that Kugonza was arrested and detained at Burora police post waiting for transfer to Kagadi Central police station. The Police later handed Twinomujuni’s corpse to relatives for burial as investigations into the brutal murder continue.
