Kidnapped Muslim School Director Dumped At Mbale Swamp

A director of a Muslim secondary school in Hoima district who was kidnapped by unknown people last week was found dumped in Mbale district on Thursday morning.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson, said Iddi Mugenyi, who is the the Director East African Muslim secondary school, was found dumped a swamp near Mbale town in the wee hours of Thursday morning.

Mugenyi was reportedly kidnapped from his home Kiganda cell in Kahoora division around 4am on Thursday August 15, 2019 by unknown people, who have held him in detention without communciating with his family members, until they dumped him at a swamp. has been found dumped in Mbale district.

His family filed a case of missing person at Hoima Central Police Station but efforts to trace his whereabouts remained futile until after a week when he was recovered, although he looked to have been traumatized by the kidnap.
However, Hakiza revealed that investigations into the matter are still ongoing such that the police can arrest the kidnappers and make them face the law.
