Kampala: Timber traders in Kireka, Kira division, are shedding tears after losing millions of shillings in a fire that gutted their stalls and workshops on Friday night.
The destructive fire started at a few minutes past midnight, according to traders who lost merchandise.
However, traders blamed the police fire brigade for failing to respond to the emergency in time, despite being stationed a few meters from the stalls that got burnt.
But the police fire department chief Joseph Mugisa said that they are investigating what could have caused the fire, after which they will issue a report about the same.
