Kampala: Justine Kasule Lumumba, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretary General, is moaning the loss of Deborah Nabukenya, the Deputy Resident City Commissioner (DRCC) for Kawempe division, who passed away on Tuesday afternoon at Mengo Hospital.
Lumumba, who was one of the NRM honchos grooming Nabukenya into a budding politician, was so saddened by her demise, because the two had been interacting often. Indeed, shortly after Nabukenya’s death was announced, Lumumba tweeted thus;
“It’s not so long ago when we last saw each other at Mulago hospital where we had gone to check on Baker. Receiving news of your demise last evening deeply shocks and saddens me. I pray the Lord strengths your family and friends through this trying time. RIP Ms Deborah Nabukenya.”
Nabukenya, who was appointed deputy RCC by President Museveni in June last year, is said to have died Tuesday evening at Mengo Hospital where she had been admitted in the morning with a strange health complication.
However, Nabukenya’s sudden death has since sparked off a lot of unanswered questions among her supporters, family members, relatives and NRM stalwarts. Watch this space for updates.
