Kampala: Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has Wednesday afternoon paralysed several areas of Kampala after escaping from Police who sealed off his home in Magere on Tuesday night.
TheSpy Uganda this morning reported about how Uganda police had heavily deployed heavily at his home in Magere so as to block him from heading to One Love Beach in Busabala, where he was slated to hold a concert dubbed ‘Osobola Ku Independence.’
But the time he woke up this morning Bobi’s home had been surrounded by police.
However, drama engulfed the city this afternoon after Bobi Wine appeared from nowhere, riding in a convoy of about 50 boda-bodas heading to One Love Beach in Busabala, while cops stationed at his home in Magere thought they had him under house arrest.
Bobi Wine notified the police in a letter the wrote to the Inspector General of Police Okoth Ochola in September, requesting the police to provide security at his concert.
However, while addressing the press on Monday, Police spokesperson Fred Enanga revealed that they did not have enough manpower to provide security at Bobi Wine’s concert and that they had not received clearance from their superiors to grant Bobi Wine permission to hold the concert.
However, now that he has escaped from them, it’s not clear whether they will allow him to enter One Love Beach Busabala or not.
