Sheema: Minister for Science Technology and Innovation Hon. Dr Elioda Tumwesigye Katsyamutwe, on Sunday urged all senior four candidates who are starting their Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) exams today Monday October 14, 2019, to desist from buying exams on streets.
During an interview with Minister Tumwesigye in Kabwohe, Sheema municipality, he said that since we are in examination period, there will be various fraudsters going to students lying to them that they have Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) exams.
He urged students to trust what their teachers taught them and deeply revise their notes.
“Some people will pretend as if they are from UNEB and start selling exams assuring students and teachers that they are the real UNEB exams. This usually makes most students collapse from examination rooms after finding out that what was sold to them was wrong and different from the real exam.”
He added that “I ask teachers to believe in themselves and what they taught. This will give students morale to know that what they have learnt is what will make them pass. Students should know that UNEB can’t release any exam before the actual time.”
Tumwesigye also advised students to always start with easy questions and avoid wasting much time on difficult ones which may end up confusing them.
“I advise these students that immediately after being allowed to open that examination paper, first read through all questions and as a must, you start with the easiest question. Most students prefer starting with the most difficult ones. This is dangerous because that difficult number may end up confusing you and you end up failing even the easiest numbers you would have passed. ” Minister Tumwesigye said.
In the same vein, Cabinet minister for tourism Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu, also urged students to use the knowledge which was given to them by God, saying that whoever was created in God’s image, is knowledgeable enough to pass all exams.
“As I always tell you, no student will fail exams if he or she followed what his teachers advised him to do, and if he or she believes and obeys Father in Heaven, I wish you success.” Prof. Kamuntu said.
