Promoters Panic As Kenzo Cancels Shows In Uganda, Vows Not To Perform Until Sheikh Muzaata Apologises

Kampala: Celebrated musician Edirisa Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo has cancelled all his upcoming music shows in Uganda, not at least until Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata apologizes for insulting him and his late mother.

A source from Big Talent music reveals that all promoters who had booked Kenzo to perform during the festive season are in untold panic after the singer’s management issued a statement over the weekend indicating that he will not be performing anywhere in Uganda again until further notice.

Rema Namakula and Hamza Sebunya at the ‘Kukyaala’

Kenzo is currently in America on a music tour and on Saturday he mashed up partiers in Columbia, although he has other gigs lined up around the world all throughout the festive season, until next year.

Although he also had gigs in Uganda during the Christmas season he has decided to cancel them as a way of expressing his anger at Sheikh Muzaata.

It should be noted that during Rema Namakula’s ‘Kukyaala’ with Hamza Sebunya last week, Muzaata ridiculed and insulted Kenzo by assuring him to go and marry his dead mother.

Kenzo’s statement about Muzaata’s allegations

It is said that he later went ahead to insult Kenzo during a programme at one of the local TV stations, alleging that he wears ear pins because he is not straight, among other allegations.

As a result of Muzaata’s insults, Kenzo’s management contends that the Muslim cleric is tarnishing the image and brand of their client and owes them a public apology.

They thus demand a public apology from Muzaata and a retraction of all his utterances from local media stations and social media, short of which Kenzo will not perform in Uganda again.
