Rubanda: At least one person is confirmed to have died and many others sustained injuries after they got involved in a nasty accident in Rubanda district, Western Uganda on Thursday.
The fatal accident recorded as Rubanda TAR 55/2019 involved an Isuzu Elf truck number UAW604F Isuzu which was being driven by a one Vian of Murole village, Rubanda district, when it lost control and overturned.
It’s alleged that on October 17, 19 at around 10:50 hours at Kagoye village Nyarurambi parish Muko Sub-county, as the truck driver wanted to overtake a Bismarkan bus not knowing there was another approaching vehicle, in the process of pulling back to the left side, the truck lost control and veered off the road killing Dismas Akatweha of Katete village Kaara parish, Muko sSub-county who was on board and injured four others.
Police visited the scene and rushed the injured to Muko Health Centre III for medical attention and later transferred to them Mutolere hospital in Kisoro district.
Later Postmortem was done on the deceased and the truck towed to Police for inspection as the driver is on run and preliminarily cause of accident was reckless driving. Inquiries underway.
