Kampala: City events promoter Dickson Ssewankambo aka Dicks kicked the bucket on Monday night, after succumbing to cardiac arrest, according to family members.
The celebrated music and drama, comedy promoter breathed his last at Kiruddu Hospital at 11:00Pm, where he was rushed shortly after being hit by stroke.
One of his family friends and Golden Band director Ronald Mayinja revealed that “On Saturday, the deceased was one of the organizers of Stabua Natooro’s show at Obligato but he collapsed in one of the stands and fell down. He was rushed to Norvik hospital for treatment until Monday. Later he was transferred to Kiruddu hospital and when the situation worsened, the family members decided to dash him to Paramount Hospital along Gaddafi Road, where he breathed his last.”
Mayinja added that “We are in total darkness and shock to see that our mentor, best friend in music industry has left us so prematurely like this.”
Family members who we found at Paramount Hospital told us that Ssewankambo suffered a cardiac arrest, had been battling high blood pressure and had a blood clot, a combination of which led to his demise.
having been one of the associates of former Eagles Production band and Golden Production band, singers like Ronald Mayinja,Catherine Kusasira, Mesarch Semakula and several other artistes thronged the hospital to eulogize the deceased.
