West Ankole Diocese Bishop Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni has urged Sheema district political leaders to end conflicts and unite together for a common goal.

While confirming more than 300 Christians at Rwabutura Church Of Uganda in Kagango division, Sheema municipality on Sunday, Bishop Twinomujuni advised Sheema leaders the voters will end up suffering if they continue conflicting with each other.

Twinomujuni also asked the masses to continue and pray for constructive and developmental members of the church, giving an example of Sheema district Woman Member of Parliament Jacklet Atuhaire Rwabukurukuru, whom he said has massively participated in church programs for which God should bless her more.

Twinomujuni’s words come at a time when Sheema district is characrersied with conflicts among political leaders, especially the Chairman LCV Sheema district Canon David Kabigumira and district Speaker Nicholas Kwariija.

They have been beefing ever since they were elected into office until last Monday when the Speaker was officially censored, hence electing new speaker Robert Nkwemeriire.

In addition, last month Cabinet minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Dr Elioda Tumwesigye Katsyamutwe conflicted with Rwabutura archdeaconry church stakeholders to the extent of exchanging words publicly, somehting that caused divisions amongst Christians.

On the same ceremony, Bishop’s wife Joy Twinomujuni asked parents to take their responsibility in caring for their families especially taking extra ordinary care to pregnant mothers plus making sure that their young children are religiously disciplined .

The Sheema Woman MP Atuhaire urged Christians to use the current rainy season to plant both food and cash crops as a way of fighting against famine and poverty in the area.

“There is no way you will be rich both physically and spiritually when you have insufficient food at your home. Let’s use what we have to get what we don’t have. It’s a shame to find someone in the village with free land but being affected by famine. People in town pray day and night to get a small piece of land because they believe that with land, they can be billionaires but you who have it, you have left it unused,” Atuhaire said.
