Riek Marchar is a western power broker in South Sudan: Gov’t Official stings rebel leader ,US over civil war

By Peter Ssebulime

The official spokesperson of the South Sudanese Embassy in Kampala H.E David Amuor Magur on Friday surprised over 200 South Sudanese youths when gathered at Fairway Hotel when he took to the podium and repeatedly called SPLM (IO) rebel leader Dr.Riek Marchar ‘a mere power broker’ for the west who has shed innocent blood of his own people to satisfy the demands of his masters-the west.

This was at the weekly Pan-African Pyramid debates at Fairway Hotel hosted by its founder and speaker Andrew Irumba Katusabe. For over 25 minutes, Amuorl, without mincing words, turned his guns and cornered  the west for calling themselves ‘stakeholders’ in the affairs of South Sudan in the previous peace talks between rebel leader Riek Marchar and president Salvar Kiir making them more complicated.

“I’m not a stake holder in America’s peace talks, because I’m not American, but during peace talks here, I heard the whites who even sponsored the peace talks insisting on  being addressed as stake holders in matters of South Sudan, and many times their interests surpassed those of South Sudanese! There is no doubt that Riek Machar’s demands became too high to meet because at his back there were other masters to take care of first before his fellow South Sudanese,” fumed Mr.Amuor.

Not at peace: president Salvar Kiir (L)and his rival Dr.Riek Machar

Mr. Amuor castigated Obama’s policies to Africa when he ‘thought’ that he was the president of Africa not America! “Indeed Obama wanted to live the ‘democracy’ in South Sudan like the one he left in Libya. The problem is our resources, not our people” said Amuor.

“I agree with these youths gathered here today at the Pan-African Pyramid, that the future of South Sudan must be determined by South Sudanese first, not anyone, and now that the youths are the majority, it’s your time to stop following but be followed for pursuit of peace and tranquility in South Sudan.” Added Amuor amidst prolonged ululations from the audience.

Full to capacity: over 200 South Sudanese youth attentively listen to speaker on Friday

Acting Chairperson for South Sudan youth forum in Uganda on national dialogue (SSyfund) Counsel Daniel Juol Nhomngek, while delivering his power point paper before the audience urged the G’vt of South Sudan to respect the will of the majority youth to be given opportunity to pursue peaceful means of solving the current conflict in South Sudan since the elders were given chance.

Among the high profile guests that also attended included UN Security Council adviser on youth, peace and security who also doubles as Executive Director African youth Action Network (AYAN) Mr.Malual Bol Kiir, Executive for International youth for Africa (IYA) and coordinator for South Sudan Civil society Organization Ter Manyang, Programmes manager African youth Action Network-South Sudan Mr.Juma Keneth,Deputy ChairLady South Sudanese women Association in Uganda (SSWAU) Ms.Grace Andrua Anasio among others.

Professor Kajabago-Karusoke, a senior lecturer at National Leadership Institute Kyankwanzi and senior presidential advisor on Pan-Africanism who represented Uganda Gov’t argued that capitalism and tribalism in South Sudan is responsible for its current conflict. He further warned that without equal share of national resources, they will not attain peace like Uganda is enjoying today. In his usual ‘hard tongue’ of abusive jokes, Kajabago noted thus; “You can’t have a common community without common economic relations. What’s killing South Sudan is failure to agree on equal sharing of national cake, there can never be human relations without economic relations, these people are fools, I don’t know why their G.O.D (God) has delayed to take them all to his ‘garden’!”.

Kajabago observed that it was ‘agrave mistake’ to allow Obama to infiltrate South Sudan to fight China because Kiir had refused to give them (US) oil deals. “You see,all America’s presidents are hyenas, Jackos and Vampires. To allow China to trade with South Sudan smoothly without them sharing anything is unacceptable, they think the whole world belongs to them, this has been America all the way, very arrogant, that’s why president Museveni went in to help Salva Kiir. America wanted to put on its own puppet (Riek) so they can steal as much oil as possible like in Libya, Museveni is a pan-Africanist,but people don’t know these economic wars” Kajabago said.

The debate was organized by the Pan-African pyramid in conjunction with South Sudanese youths living in Kampala under their umbrella Organization South Sudanese youths forum in Uganda on National dialogue (SSYFUND)  which was held last Friday 30th/6/2017 at Fairway Hotel Kampala.

unrepentant: Prof.Kajabago-Karusoke deliver his speech last Friday where he attached former US president Obama.

The purpose of the debate was to begin peace initiatives in South Sudan by the majority youths who are the most affected by the un-ending civil war.

The Pan-African pyramid is an intellectual non-partisan discussion forum built on the Pillars of PAN-AFRICANISM, PATRIOTISM and NATIONALISM whose Ideal/pre-occupation is to REVIVE intellectual discourse among the youths with a bias of re-constructing our lost Pan-Africanism, patriotism and Nationalism Values and spirit. It’s a registered non-profit,non Gov’t Organization in Uganda.

It was identified as the suitable platform to discuss peace in South Sudan after numerous high level peace talks proved to be mere business ventures for the few elderly elites in Sudan at the expense of innocent African souls.

South Sudan gained independence from Sudan on 9 July 2011 as the outcome of a 2005 peace deal that ended Africa’s longest-running civil war. An overwhelming majority of South Sudanese voted in a January 2011 referendum to secede and become Africa’s first new country since Eritrea split from Ethiopia in 1993.

Made up of the 10 southern-most states of Sudan, South Sudan is one of the most diverse countries in Africa. It is home to over 60 different major ethnic groups, and the majority of its people follow traditional religions.

Independence did not bring conflict in South Sudan to an end. The 2013-2015 civil war displaced 2.2 million people and threatened the success of one of the world’s newest countries.
