In Things! Museveni Appoints Mbabazi Daughter, Historical Col. Basaliza As Top NWSC Bosses

Kampala: The family of former Prime Minister and Presidential contender John Patrick Amama Mbabazi has landed in things, after his daughter landed herself a juicy appointment at the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC).

Spy Uganda has learnt that with President Yoweri Museveni’s endorsement, Rachael Kiconco Mbabazi has been appointed the Chairperson Board of Directors at NWSC and the young lady is already warming up to start executing her duties starting July 2021. “Can’t wait to officially start my duties” she told her closet buddy via phone which our spy evesdropped.

Kiconco who was appointed in a Cabinet Decision taken on Monday November 5, 2019 will be replacing Dr. Eng. Ebal whose contract will expire in July 2021 and she will serve in that position for three years.

Other members on the Board include Sarah Anyiru, the Senior Presidential Adviser on West Nile, George Runge Muzungyo, a manager at Uganda Revenue Authority, and the bush war historical Rtd.Col. Stephen Mwesigye Basaliza from Tooro.

Basaliza’s contract at the Uganda Human Rights Commission expired recently and now with the annointing of his former bush war commander, the president, will be moving to NWSC.

However, Kiconco’s appointment comes as a surprise to many Ugandans, especially because her father attempted to oust his former boss President Museveni, who has since become her boss too.

But political pundits claim that Kiconco’s appointment could aptly be regarded as declaration of a truce between the Mbabazi-Museveni families.

It should be recalled that hostilities between both families had been happening behind the scenes for a long time, until Mbabazi’s wife Jackie… got poisoned and was rushed abroad for medical attention.

Matters between the two families escalated when Mbabazi made clear his ambitions to contest for presidency against Museveni, which was proceeded by a series of arrests, raids at his home, offices, security farm, among other hostilities.

However, later after the aftermath of the 2016 postelection period, Mbabazi and Museveni started peacemaking process after the latter invited the President as chief guest at the wedding of his adopted daughter Bridget Birungi Rwakairu and South Africa First Son Andile Ramaphosa.
