We Shot Only Two Violent Ugandans In Self Defence!-President Kagame Gov’t Explains Saturday Border Shooting Of Ugandans

The government of Rwanda headed by president Paul Kagame, has finally opened up about two Ugandan businessmen who were shot dead in Nyagatarama on Saturday as they reportedly tried to Smuggle good into Rwanda.

Rwanda Gov’t explains in their press release that the two shot Ugandans became violent to Rwanda authorities Manning at the border prompting them to open fire shooting them dead, the statement said others escaped after the scaffle and reportedly returned to Uganda side for safety.

A statement released by Rwanda Gov’t about the impasse states thus; “Today November, 9, at around 3:00pm in Tabagwe sector, Nyagatare district, police officers on patrol intercepted a group of suspected smugglers who had crossed into Rwandan territory at an ungazetted border point with Uganda.

The smugglers became violent and assaulted police officers who reacted in self defence shooting dead two while the rest escaped. The deceased were identified as Job Ebyendishanga,32, and Boco Tuheirwe ,35, both Ugandans. An investigation into this incident has started.”

The statement addeds that “Rwandan National Police condemns the violence by smugglers and urges especially those residing along the common to border to focus on legal commercial activities using official border points.”

However the police and government are yet to issue an official statement about the deceased, and reply to Rwandan government.
