Peoples Government President Col. Dr Kizza Besigye was intercepted in Kampala early this morning by police as he headed to his offices in Katonga Road, to hold the Anti-Corruption Walk.
At the time of Besigye’s arrest in Kampala, several cops had been deployed at his home in Kasangati, Wakiso district.
However, other policemen deployed along the Northern Bypass were shocked to suddenly see Besigye’s armoured Land Cruiser vehicle cruising along the road in Mperewe, a Kampala suburb. They immediately blocked traffic flow to impound the vehicle.
The police later called a breakdown truck that towed away Besigye’s car towards Kasangati police Station.However, our Spy reveals that Besigye has since armoured his vehicle whereby although the police have in the past been able to smash the vehicle’s windows, this time round he has protected it with armoured metal, such that they cannot spray him with pepper gas or shatter its windows.
