People Power Social Worker Eyes Lubaga Seat

Kampala: Jackline Nakajubi, a former teacher at Namagunga Primary School and a project coordinator at Pathfinder International Uganda, has finally tightened her belts to join politics and represent the women of Lubaga division at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) as a Councillor.

According to Nakajubi, while she was still a teacher , she identified gaps in education and health service delivery, most especially amongst the youth and women, which she hopes to change through advocacy.

Nakajuni said while attending the People Power women’s league meeting in Kampala over the weekend that she quit her job to join politics with a view of advocating for a change in service delivery and to speak for the vulnerable  group such as women.

She said that women want to influence the democratic processes in the country such that they can cause desired change in our country.


“We understand that as women in politics, the current political context affects us differently, it is our responsibility to organize better in this context,” Nakajubi noted.

The meeting also attended by former ethics minister Miria Matembe, who urged women all over the country to get directly involved matters of democratic governance in Uganda.
