“It is impressive that Pan-African Pyramid consists of the youth and it is unique and rare to find youth involved in the charitable activities that aim at changing the lives of suffering Africans,” Mugenyi said.
He added that “I think if all People were like you,  thinking that everyone has something to offer for humanity, the world would be much more habitable.”

He promised PAP Team a strong and healthy relationship during the distribution exercise of relief items to refugees in the camps since sometimes refugees are violent whenever there are donations being handed out  to them
“I’m going to mobilize a team that will assist you while giving out these donations since for them they are at least used to these refugees’ behaviours,” Mugenyi said.

He added that; “So far the Settlement hosts a big number of refugees from more than ten countries including Somalia, Pakistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia and many others.

Mugenyi further noted that Nakivale Refugee settlement currently hosts over One Hundred Twenty thousand (120, 000) refugees.

However, Mugyenyi called upon Africans to stop waiting for donations from America and Europe but to come out and donate to refugees. He noted that individuals in Europe and Asia, America donate as low as one dollar but once gathered,  it becomes enough to solve challenges for refugee. He therefore encouraged them to pick a leaf from what PAP does for the cause of the well-being for our fellow Africans.

Mugyenyi also expressed  disappointment in African countries which he said  put too much emphasis on guarding geographical boarders, yet this erases the traditional spirit of Unity and socialism amongst Africans. He posed a challenge to other African countries to learn from the hospitality Uganda expresses by welcoming in displaced fellow Africans.

In the same vein, PAP’s  Irumba revealed to the Commandant that he is much in touch with youth since Pan-Africanism was initiated by youth in all African revolutions. He noted that if anyone wants to make change , the only group of people with fresh minds to start with are youth because they are energetic and change agents.

“Youth some times are hectic and rigid but once you learn them and capture their minds nothing will fail. Elders in most cases are used for guidance but it’s the youth that will implement,” the PAP Speaker said.
