Police in Arua on Wednesday afternoon paraded several firearms and a round of ammunition that were reportedly recovered from Pacific Hotel rooms where Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi (aka Bobi Wine) and Kassiano Wadri were residing.
According to Police spokesperson for West Nile region Sp Josephine Angucia revealed that Bobi wine, Kassiano Wadri and other suspects were to be charged with treason, unlawful possession of firearms and malicious damage.
“So far, as police we recovered two submachine guns and a pistol from Bobi Wine and Kassiano Wadri, and when we interrogated them, they said that they were licenced to have them”, she said.
She added “we have more than 35 suspects in our custody who were arrested between Monday and Tuesday due violent acts they were involved in around town.
Police claim to have recovered two submachine guns, 112 rounds of ammunition, 50 pellets of white illegal drugs, three Uganda flags, eight red T-shirts, 20 smart phones, a GPR machine, a red jacket and red bags.
Police said the suspects will soon appear in court when the investigations are fully concluded.
