UPDF Medical Team Offers Free Medical Services To Ngoma Residents

Nakaseke: In the bid to promote good health among all Ugandans, government through the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) medical team, has   kicked off free  treatment of the people of Ngoma sub-county in Nakaseke district, as one of the activities to celebrate the Army’s 39th anniversary on February 6th, 2020 at Butalangu.

The UPDF Medics  carried out HIV testing and counseling, general checkups and treatment and giving out treated mosquito nets, to locals on Saturday.

The medical team leader Capt. Dr Isaac Tukesiga  said that “Since it’s the first day, the turn up is not yet as high as expected but I’m optimistic that by the time we end the exercise more  people would have joined us.”

Capt. Dr. Tukesiga said the major sickness observed is malaria and and that the giving of mosquito nets is timely.

He noted that the UPDF medical team has stocked enough drugs for the patients.

He called upon all the people of Ngoma to come on the February 6th  to Butalangu grounds to celebrate with UPDF on its 39th anniversary.
