Azam Media Limited on Thursday launched a new channel called ‘U’, which will be specifically dedicated to broadcasting Ugandan and East African music videos.
The channel will be exclusively for local entertainment and will be offered to subscribers across all Azam packages at discounted rates.
Several artistes and comedians attended the launch of Channel U, which was held at the Azam TV head office in Kololo.
Channel U is a hot new TV airing an array of East African Luganda dubbed series, comedy and entertainment shows and will serve as home for all East African content aimed for offering collaborations and exporting the East African culture to the rest of the world.
Addressing the media at a presser during the launch of the channel, Denis Kalikwani, the sales and marketing manager at Azam Media Uganda, revealed that Channel U will premier the first Luganda dubbed series titled ‘Beautiful Stranger’ which will be airing from Monday to Friday.
“Channel U is dedicated to showcasing and highlighting the region’s best talent and rising stars,” Kalikwani
He revealed that to get connected, one has to buy a full Azam TV kit (dish, decoder, smartcard).
