Six people have been confirmed dead and six others seriously injured following a motor accident along Fort Portal-Bundibugyo road.
According to the Rwenzori West police spokesperson, Ms Lydia Tumushabe, the accident occurred on Tuesday at about 5pm in Mudandama village Ntoroko District.
She said a taxi registration number UAN 023D was travelling from Fort Portal to Bundibugyo District when the driver lost control before the vehicle rolled several times down the valley, about 200 meters off the road.
The injured were rushed to Fort Portal regional referral hospital in critical condition while the deceased were taken to the hospital mortuary for postmortem.
