COVID-19 Updates: Uganda’s Cases Rise To 679, With 120 Recoveries

The situation in Uganda is not yet good at all after the Ministry of Health announced that the number of Coronavirus infections in the country has risen from 665 to 679.

Information from the Ministry indicates that results from samples tested on 10 June 2020 confirmed 14 new COVID-19 cases, hence raising the previous day’s number to 679 total confirmed cases.

Among the new case; Six (6)  were among 1260 samples  tested from Points of Entry, while eight (8) were among 1,061 samples of alerts and contacts. All confirmed cases are Ugandans.

The Ministry also revealed in a statement issued Thursday that “Additionally, thirty (30)  foreign truck drivers (19 Kenyans, 8 Tanzanians, 2 Eritreans and 1 Burundian) tested positive for COVID-19 and were handed over to their respective country of origin.

The good news however is that the total COVID-19 recoveries Uganda are currently 120 and no death has been recorded so far.

Officials from the Ministry of Health Ugandans to wash hands frequently with soap or use sanitizers, wear face masks all the time, maintain social distance, plus to avoid touching your mouth, eyes and nose as a way of preventing the spread of COVID-19.
