Entebbe: As was earlier announced by the ministry of internal affairs through TheSpy Uganda, Today Uganda has resumed the repatriation exercise evacuating a total of 238 Ugandans who were stranded in Qatar.
According to the statement seen by this website, the group is expected to arrive at Entebbe today at 5pm using Qatar Airways passenger flight.
Uganda is expected to carry three repatriation flights in this weekend which include Doha-Qatar via Qatar Airways, United States via Ethiopian airways, Canada & Caribbean plus Korea and Japan via Ethiopian Airways.
The next repatriation will be on 21st, July 2020 with Ugandans in Berlin and Germany via Ethiopian Airways, while on 22nd, July 2020, Ugandans in Riyadh-Saudi Arabia will also be repatriated via Ethiopian or Uganda Airways.
In April, Uganda Embassies in various countries where Ugandans were stranded, started registration process meant to return them home after three months of suspended travels.
Following Presidents orders to Ministry of internal affairs to start repatriating, several Ugandans have been returned home and currently being quarantined at different isolation centres. The first group of Ugandans were flown into the country from Turkey, on 24th, June 2020.
