Wednesday was a rough day for SC Villa Jogoo after being walloped by the Caterpillars at the Mandela National Stadium – Namboole.
Toha Rashid scored the only decisive goal of the match after converting a beautiful free kick in the opening minutes of the game.
SC Villa remain winless in the two opening games of the season with Asaph Mwebaze’s side winning two games consecutively.
The Jogoos failed to convert their second half chances.
Elsewhere, Bright Stars FC emerged as winners against newly promoted side Nyamityobora in a five goal thriller. Nyamityobora threw away a two goal lead after Patrick Gonohasa and Ibrahim Dada gave them a lead before Nelson Ssenkatuka scoring from a penalty spot, Alfred Onek leveled the score as Brian Kayanja closed the scoring for Bright Stars in the last minutes of the game to earn all the three points.
Ndejje University recovered from last week’s 1-0 defeat by the defending champions Vipers SC after securing their first win of the season by beating Mbarara City 1-0.
Paidha Black Angels, the newly promoted side emerged victorious against the “Tear Gas Boys” Police FC. Green Light Stadium was filled to capacity as the Blacks entertained the struggling Police FC in a 2-1 win.
