Sheema: Former Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) commissioner Dickson Kateshumbwa aka Katesh, who is the aspiring Member of Parliament for Sheema Municipality Member of Parliament seat, has been blasted by concerned Ugandans for distributing knickers to voters in the constituency, in a bid to convince them to vote for him during the 2021 general election.
This website has established that in a bid to convince voters in Sheema South to vote for him. Kateshumbwa earlier this week embarked on a mission to distribute knickers to all women and girls in the constituency, which were distributed by members of his campaign team.
However, many Ugandans have since come out to blast him for this act, saying that it is tantamount to degrading the dignity of a woman.
Popular journalist Kanyomozi District tweeted thus; “So NRM’s Dick is giving out underwear to voters! That’s Dick Katesh, formerly of URA. Oba how did he know that this is their most pressing need? Was it a survey or spot check? Is this voter bribery or protection of community privacy? Would like to hear Mr Ofwono Opondo’s views.”
The Romantic Mukiga tweeted; “Okay Katesh, you’re over doing it, it’s not cool, imagine giving out knickers just to get votes. God we have failed you and we’re sorry.” Folded hands.
Culton Scovia Nakamya, another journalist tweeted that; “We know many are needy, they lack sanitary towels for their monthly periods and others have only one but Women and girls deserve respect and protection. Let’s ask Sheema Municipality MP aspirant Dickson Kateshumbwa AKA Katesh to apologize. Move the Hashtag.”
