Police in Bushenyi have kicked off investigations to crack down unknown assailants who strangled and killed Mutara Sub County Chairman Mr.Kaginda at Kanyamabona near Ishaka town, Bushenyi district on Sunday.
According to family members, Kaginda was from Kampala International University Hospital Ishaka branch to drop his father in law who was not feeling well. On his way back home, the suspected thugs allegedly ambushed him, grabbed him from his car registration number UAR 136H RAV 4, killed and later hanged him on a tree in a nearby forest where the natives found him in the morning around 10 Am.
Kaginda has been Mutara Chairman LC 111 since 2001 and has been influential in Mitooma District politics.However,many people in greater Bushenyi came to know him when President Museveni started calling him directly on his phone asking him the developmental programs in greater Bushenyi District.
The greater Bushenyi region police spokesperson SP Martial Tumusiime confirmed the incident and vowed to bring culprits of this heinous act to book.
“We suspect the assailants to have first strangled him to death before hanging him in a forest on Ishaka-Kitagata road. We moved to the scene with our sniffer dogs to give us some leads to help us in the investigations,” he said.
“We found his car parked on the roadside and now his body has been taken to Kitagata hospital for a postmortem report to ascertain the cause of his death,” he added.
