NTV Uganda’s senior news anchor Rachael Mwine Arinaitwe has quit the Serena based Television as the mass exodus of staff continues.

Mwine on Thursday night appeared on TV for her last time where she also anchored the 9 pm bulletin and announced that she was leaving the station.

The management of NTV confirmed Rachael’s exit and wished her the very best in her next Journey.
“NTV is extremely grateful and honoured to have worked with you, [Racheal], your hard work and dedication were a great contribution to NTV Uganda,” NTV Uganda management wrote.

NTV Uganda has seen scores of its key reporters and anchors quit.
Most recently, Maurice Mugisha left his lead role at the NTV news department to join state broadcaster, UBC TV as deputy managing director.

News anchors and reporters including Rukh-Shana Namuyimba, Sheilah Nduhukire, Solomon Sserwanjja, and Raymond Mujuni all left NTV for NBS TV.
It was not readily clear where Mwine would go next after NTV Uganda but said in her Facebook post that she was still going to be on air. Read her facebook post here…..”As a-man-gad would say, 7 is the number of completion. Touch your neighbour and say kamplishon!!! Today, after a wonderful 7 years at what has become my second home, I do my final bulletin at this awesome media house. At the time I joined NTV, aside from being excited about being on TV, I had no idea how much my life would change, the random strangers that met me on the street and said hello, the “I think I have seen you somewhere stares”, the many doors and opportunities that have opened up for me, I could go on and on..point is I’m grateful for all of it and for each one of you who has sent a supportive text or appreciated what I do. Thank you! Mwebare!

Also a ka special thank you to omuntu Wangye for being there and supporting me all the way, for boiling eggs for yourself for supper while I worked and waiting up for me every time.
I start a new chapter, working with some of the brightest minds in Tech and look forward to what the next 7 have in store.

Ps. This isn’t goodbye to TV, watch this space aka #ComingSoon ?”. Well, here at TheSpyUganda wish you Rachael success in your next chosen journey.
