Nairobi Is Just Too Sweeter For Me, I Won’t Leave: Uganda’s Ambassador To Kenya Otaala Refuses To Handover To Newly Appointed Galiwango

Nairobi: As we report, the infection of long stay in power among African leaders is busy disordering Uganda’s Ambassador to Kenya Phibby Otaala who has revealed that come rain or shine she is not ready to quit office as per President Museveni’s directive recounting that she has just started enjoying the sweetness of her ambassadorial position in Nairobi.

It should be remembered that President Museveni amidst NRM primaries he appointed Hassan Galiwango and later vetted by Parliament for the position proving that he was fit to serve his country in this capacity.

The appointment came after Otaala jumped out of the office and came to Uganda to participate in her party’s (NRM) primaries for Tororo District Woman MP where she was smashed with huge tally difference hence running back to “her” untouchable embassy in Nairobi.

However, Otaala reasons that the appointment of new ambassador was not a result of her participation in politics leaving her official job unattended too, but it was out of rumours that were circulated that she had resigned hence his boss thought to replace her.

The ‘hungry’ ambassador revealed, “We have five other embassies hanging. They did not vet him for Nairobi. If they vetted him for Nairobi then that’s byoya bya nswa. I’m not even about to leave. We cannot be two ambassadors in the same area. He can go to China, Japan, Angola and Geneva, among others. He should not look at where I am. Nairobi etandise okumpomera.”

Otaala, therefore, she ‘ordered’ that the new ambassador Galiwango should try elsewhere but not Nairobi and if possible he should go back to Parliament to be vetted for another position.

Meanwhile, in our interacting with the new ambassador Galiwango, he said that whatever is being said by Otaala is a wastage of time since she is not the appointing authority.

He said, “I was appointed by the President and vetted by Parliament. I don’t have time to respond to Phibby [Ms Otaala] because she is not the appointing authority.”
