Former Managing Director National Social Security Fund (NSSF) David Chandi Jamwa has been sent back to Luzira Prison after Court of Appeal quashed his petition challenging his sentence by anti-corruption court in 2010.
Jamwa had appealed before the court of Appeal challenging the then Anti-Corruption Court Judge John Bosco Katutsi judgment of a 12 year jail term after he found him guilty of causing financial loss and abuse office.
He was also banned for 10years from doing any government job. In Their judgment court of appeal judges Justice Opiyo Aweri and Kakuru, all contended that the evidence showed that the sale of government bonds by NSSF only two days to their maturity led to a financial loss hence holding the lower court’s sentence. But Former deputy chief justice Stephen Kavuma disagreed with his fellow colleagues.
