A total of 99,672 students are expected to have sat for their Uganda Advanced Certificate of Examinations (UACE) final exams that begun on Monday, 12th of November 2018,
The 53,359 males and 41,313 females started with Mathematics and history at 9:00 am across the country’s 2,217 centers.
According to a statement released by UNEB’s General Secretary Daniel Odong, distribution of examination materials started on Saturday under tight security.
Odong said over 800 scouts and security personnel were dispatched to oversee the process.
“We still warn schools against the involvement in malpractice in the examination and to guard against people who sell what they purport to be examination questions,” reads part of the statement signed by Daniel Odong.
This year’s number of candidates has gone down compared to the 102,007 candidates that sat for UACE exams in 2017.
