Namibia beat Uganda by seven wickets with five overs to spare in the first T20 Castle Lite Series match played in Windhoek on Saturday.

Uganda batted first and scored 135 rounds for the loss of five wickets.
Hosts Namibia won the match with overs to spare courtesy of dominance by their captain Gerhard Erasmus who scored a quickfire 62 runs.
Meanwhile the Namibian over 50s team lost their first T20 and One Day International match on Thursday and Friday to the visiting Zimbabwe team in the ongoing series.

The surface at the Wanderers Cricket Ground provided a great balance between the bat and ball where both batsmen and bowlers got equal assistance on offer. Spinners played an important role in the middle overs.
Before the game, Namibia was placed at the 19th position in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings whereas Uganda was placed at the 31st spot in the rankings, we wait to see new rankings.

Namibia had played sixteen T20I matches in the last two years where they won twelve of those matches whereas Uganda had played seven T20I matches in the last two years where they were able to win in three matches.
