Uganda Cup: Key Highlights As Police FC Demolished Calvary 10-1 On Aggregate To Advance

Police FC advanced to the round of final 16 in the Stanbic Uganda Cup after demolishing the Big League side Calvary FC 10-1 on aggregate.

The Cops thrashed Calvary FC 5-1 in the return leg on Saturday at Greenlight Stadium in Arua to add on the first leg 5-0 win at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Muwadda Mawejje and Herman Wasswa each scored a brace while Mubarak Nsubuga netted the other.

Asege Jamil had given the home side an early lead before Mawejje leveled matters to make it 1-1 before Nsubuga put the corps into the lead in the 32nd minute.

Wasswa netted the third in the 60th minute making it impossible for the hosts to overturn and moments later he scored his second of the game to make it 4-1 for the corps.

Mawejje also slotted home his second and fifth of the day for Abdallah Mubiru’s side in the 70th minute to end it 5-1 (10-1) on aggregate.

Police join BUL who was the first to qualify, KCCA FC, Express, Maroons, Onduparaka FC, Wakiso Giants, Vipers SC, Tooro United.

Both clubs have league matches in the mid-week with Police FC returning to action with an Uganda Premier League game against UPDF FC on Wednesday while Calvary FC hosts Maroons at Greenlight in the FUFA Big League on Thursday 15th April.
