Breaking News: NBS Tv Reporter Sheila Nakabuye Is Dead

Kampala: It’s a somber mood at the Naguru based NBS Television and the media fraternity in Uganda following the untimely death of Sheilah Nakabuye.

Nakabuye who has been working as the NBS TV bureau chief for South Western Uganda based in Mbarara city passed on this morning at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.

Nakabuye has been pregnant and gave birth to a live baby girl on Saturday morning May 15 at a private medical facility.

According to Nakabuye’s mother, she suffered seizures shortly after giving birth and slipped into a coma. She was then rushed to Mbarara Regional referral hospital before doctors announced her dead on Monday morning.

“She had pre-eclampsia which was not managed early, she was in a coma by last night. She had seizures that affected the brain.” Nakabuye’s Mother revealed.

The sad news was also confirmed by NBS TV on their social media platforms saying Sheilah passed on Monday morning at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital

Sheila joined Next Media Group- NBS TV in 2016 until her demise and had a special interest in covering vulnerable groups especially women and children and had a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from the Uganda Pentecostal University Fort Portal. Being a Muslim, she will be buried today Monday at 3pm, sources confirmed.

According to available statistics, 6000 women die every year while giving birth in Uganda due to lack of adquate health services. But more interesting is that 95% of the deaths can be avoided if proper health services and facilities were given to such women.
