Minister for Kampala, Betty Olive Namisango Kamya has appointed Eng. Andrew Kitaka Mubiru as the Acting Executive Director for Kampala capital city authority (KCCA) replacing Jennifer Musisi who formally left the office on December 15.
Kamya revealed that Kitaka’s appointment is meant to avoid any leadership vaccum and ensure continuity at the authority that is gripped by uncertainty.
Kitaka is the current KCCA director of engineering and technical services. Samuel Serunkuuma will remain KCCA deputy executive director.
It is not clear whether Kitaka will retain the job. On December 10, Daily Monitor reported that three people, including Kitaka, had been tipped to replace Musisi. (Tramadol)
The other is Mr Henry Mayega, Uganda’s deputy ambassador to China; and, Mr Patrick Mukiibi, the commissioner for Tax Investigation at Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).
The print newspaper reported that Beti Kamya would recommend two candidates and President Museveni will name one of them as Musisi’s successor.
