Museveni Replaces Former EC Secretary Rwakoojo With Mulekwa As New SG, To Bag UGX300M Per Year

Kampala: According to an offer letter dated 21st October 2021 seen by this site, Electoral Commission approved Mr. Mulekwah Russell Jacques Leonard as acting General Secretary for a period of five years.

”I am pleased to inform you that during the 73 Commission Meeting held on Tuesday 12″ October 2021, under Min.CM 259/2021 the Commission approved that you be appointed to the post of Secretary to the Electoral Commission,” reads the letter.

The appointment is subject to the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, the Electoral Commission Act, Public Service Standing Orders, the Electoral Commission Human Resource Manual and Administrative Instructions issued from time to time.

Meanwhile, TheSpy Uganda has learnt that Mulekwa will be earning UGX300 million per year and UGX25 million as basic monthly salary and a housing allowance of UGX27 million per month.

Other privileges include an annual gratuity of 40% of gross pay, chauffer driven vehicle, special services body and home guards.

Mulekwa replaces Sam Rwakoojo who was allegedly fired over corruption with three others including; Godfrey Wanyoto, the head of procurement, Jotham Taremwa, the public relations officer, and Pontius Namugera, the information technology director.
