Former Minister of Information Communications Technology (ICT) dubbed current Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry & Fisheries Frank K.Tumwebaze has expressed displeasure over MTN Uganda’s poor services that have left millions of Ugandans in losses.
Via his Twitter handle, Tumwebaze fumed at MTN Uganda for chopping his airtime on dropped calls.
For some of our readers, a dropped call happens when your phone gets disconnected somehow from the cellular network. Usually, this happens because of poor cell signal wherever you are that causes the call to drop.

Tumwebaze wonders whether quality service is still one of MTN Uganda’s objectives. He says network around Mbarara is very poor to support a call but even amidst all that, MTN Uganda proudly deducts his airtime.
”Dropped calls is the normal moreover at a cost. Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) this should be a regulatory concern! MTN you’re obliged by licence to offer quality service.Why charge me for a dropped call? This is unacceptable,” Tumwebaze fumed at MTN online team which responded to him thus;
”Hello Frank. We would like to engage over this network challenge. May we have your phone number and the amount charged?”

Tumwebaze fires back,”You know the money you charge per dropped call.”
The Minister says he championed the broadband policy 2018 that reformed the licencing & regulatory framework for telecoms which can be used to curb MTN behaviors.
He requests regulatory bodies of government like UCC among others to be tough on companies like MTN Uganda which he accuses of not minding about customer care and effective service delivery but profit making just.
