Ugandan Embassy In South Africa Celebrates Uganda Airlines 3rd Year Anniversary

The Uganda’s Embassy in South Africa headed by Amb. Paul Amoru on Tuesday celebrated Uganda Airlines’ 3rd year anniversary and recognized the national airliner’s mega achievements in the few years of operation.

Having started commercial operations in August 2019, Uganda Airlines has expanded its network to 11 destinations since its inception.

According to our source in SA, who was among the celebrants, Amb.Paul Amoru and his guests including Esté McGalty, Sales Manager and Coral Spurr Reservations Manager at the Uganda Airlines- South Africa, agreed to continue working together through partnerships and collaborations to relentlessly market the airline and support its growth, opening up of more routes and sustained longevity of the airline in the skies.

”The High commissioner pledged to work towards fostering an even stronger working relationship with the Airlines through the pledged collaborations to ensure that Uganda’s flagship national passenger and cargo carrier grows to even greater heights,” says the source.

Earlier this year, Airlines CEO Jennifer Bamuturaki said the key focus areas for the national carrier in 2022 include “investing in customer retention systems, seeking strategic partnerships, growing our cargo operations and network expansion.”

According to the airline’s business plan, in the 2nd year of operation, the national carrier had planned to have 18 and four (4) regional and international routes respectively, but this was hindered by the COVID-19 effects.

As of today, Uganda Airlines’ boasts of a couple of operational routes including; Nairobi, Mombasa, Dubai, Kinshasa, Johannesburg, Juba, Dar es Salaam, Mogadishu and Bujumbura.
